Description

Last year, Day of Caring volunteers transformed the inside of shed at Fair Meadows Elk Hill's Girls Group Home into a fun, welcoming hangout space for the girls. This year, we'd love to extend that transformation by creating a beautiful, inviting outdoor environment they can enjoy every day.

Volunteers will paint the exterior of the shed, refresh the landscaping around the main house by weeding, mulching, trimming shrubs, and planting flowers, and create handcrafted wooden signs to display near the entrance of the home. Artistic volunteers can paint encouraging messages such as "You Are Loved," "You  Matter," or "You Are Enough" to provide daily reminders of hope, belonging, and self-worth.

These simple but meaningful improvements will help create a welcoming outdoor space that reflects the care and support the girls receive inside. Every flower planted, every brushstroke, and every encouraging message helps remind the young people who live here that they are valued, supported, and surrounded by a community that believes in their future.
