Who We Are
Our Mission - All Blessings Flow is a local faith-based non-profit organization founded to improve the quality of life of individuals living with disabilities. Our primary mission is to address healthcare inequities by providing medical equipment free of charge to those in need in Charlottesville, Albemarle, and surrounding counties. For a disabled person in need, a piece of medical equipment can be a life-changing blessing.
Our Vision – Our program is based on a simple idea: we live in an area of substantial prosperity and excellent healthcare facilities, with a wealth of used medical equipment that many people no longer need or want. Our vision is that by redistributing this equipment to those in need, something that once blessed you or your loved one can now become a blessing for someone else. One blessing becomes another, and – all blessings flow.
Since 2015, we have helped more than 15,000 individuals and families in need, given out over 60,000 items, and saved more than 600,000 lbs from our local landfills.
What We Do
All Blessings Flow collects, cleans, refurbishes, and redistributes used medical equipment and supplies to those who cannot afford these items on their own. Our clients are primarily low-income families who are uninsured or underinsured, representing many underserved groups in our community, including seniors, rural residents, and people of color. We serve those in need in Charlottesville, Albemarle, and all surrounding counties.
More specifically, ABF program services begin with phone, email, and personal interviews with health care professionals, social service providers, family members, and clients in need. Through the interview process, our therapists or nurses complete a needs assessment and equipment request. Then, with all of the equipment available on-site, the exact item(s) are retrieved and readied for immediate pick-up. Pick-up often includes training in the proper use of the equipment.
On the supply side of our operation, collected equipment and supplies first go to the intake area for processing and inspection. Each item is thoroughly cleaned and disinfected by hand or using our high-pressure equipment washing system. After cleaning, many items need repairs with replacement parts. Our technicians ensure that all equipment is safe and in good working order. After completing repairs or if no repairs are required, items are placed in current stock inventory, organized by category, to be quickly selected, tagged, and readied for pick-up.
