Who We Are

Reclaimed Hope Initiative is a local nonprofit that exists to serve families navigating foster care, adoption, and children with disabilities. Our goal is to bring wrap-around services to every member of the family, allowing hope, healing and family support in order to limit burnout and secondary traumatic stress in caregivers, as well as limit the use of hospitals, residential facilities and group homes for youth with a traumatic past. Our long term vision is to prevent families from having to separate due to trauma, crisis, or hardship.

What We Do

Reclaimed Hope Initiative is an established 501(c)(3) organization that exists to strengthen and empower families navigating foster care, adoption, and children with disabilities to thrive through crisis, hardship, or trauma. This is turn limits burnout and secondary traumatic stress in caregivers, as well as limits the use of hospitals, residential facilities and group homes for youth with a traumatic past. Reclaimed Hope Initiative addresses the mental, physical, social, and recreational needs of a vulnerable population of families mainly in Charlottesville City and Albemarle County, but also serves families in the Counties of Fluvanna, Louisa, Nelson and Augusta.
