Therapeutic Adventures (TA) / IndependencePlus Adaptive Sports (I~AS) provides leadership, programs and specialty therapeutic services to educate, to challenge, and to inspire persons of all ages and abilities. Therapeutic Adventures and IndependencePlus Adaptive Sports provide leadership, programs and specialty therapeutic services To Educate ~ To Challenge ~ To Inspire persons of all ages and abilities. TA and I~AS provide greater accessibility to adaptive sports and adaptive outdoor adventures while emboldening those we serve with the courage to improve their functional independence, health, fitness and overall quality of life.
Our Programs are categorized in two general areas: Therapeutic Adventures (TA) (adaptive outdoor adventures) and IndependencePlus Adaptive Sports (I~AS) (recreational and competitive adaptive sports) Services are broken down into four areas:
OUR PROJECTS focus on: (1) Education and Outreach; (2) Accessibility; (3) Safety & Risk Management; (4) Conservation & Eco- Stewardship; (5) Leadership Development; (6) Adaptive Equipment Design and Development.
OUR EVENTS are comprised of adaptive camps, adaptive sports clinics, therapeutic retreats, races, and volunteer service projects.
Therapeutic Adventures, Inc. has developed a unique and integrative approach to instruction using: our IndependencePlus Model, our adaptive Circle of Courage model, and our Adaptive Outdoor Skills Mastery System. Through our unique approach to teaching, coaching, guiding and mentoring, we embolden our adaptive students/clients to set goals and to strive for functional independence. Our belief that ALL persons learn and benefit by being provided with opportunities to develop self-awareness, self-confidence, and self-reliance - has provided Therapeutic Adventures, Inc. with a proven framework for success.
A natural extension of our mission, Therapeutic Adventures, Inc. is pleased to be a chapter of MOVE UNITED, the largest adaptive sports organization in the United States.
