EVENT CLOSED DUE TO WEATHER
Van Clief Nature Area in Scottsville is a great community park, with trails and a lake for fishing. But the roads and trails took heavy damage in the snowstorm last week. We need to clear brush and small trees from the access roads and trails.
The Town will have a couple of chainsaw specialists to do serious cuts. But a volunteer skilled with a chainsaw and bringing their own would be welcome. Other volunteers can bring loppers or trail saws, or gloves to move brush.
If time permits and we get clear access, there is also a fun opportunity to build a creek crossing! We have some large rocks to move and arrange in the creek.
We will meet at the "Victory Hall" Greater Scottsville Chamber of Commerce (401 valley st. Scottsville) and we can walk to the creek from there. Please bring gloves and closed toed shoes. Hope to see you there!
