This direct contact with our donors enables you to become an ambassador for the Charlottesville Habitat affiliate. We hope you consider joining our passionate team at the store!

About the Junior Volunteer Program: For youth ages 14-17 and high school students (even if you are 18 years old) who want to fulfill required school community service. Must commit to a minimum of twelve service hours over three consecutive months. Youth must be mature, responsible, self-directed and care deeply for animals.  Some Examples of Junior Volunteer Tasks: laundry (wash, dry, sort and put away) sweep/mop lobby floors and hallways clean up throughout landscaping (scoop dog waste and pick up trash) refill treat buckets clean kennels (assisting a staff person) scoop and clean cat and kitten cages (assisting a staff person) clean small animal cages and fill water bottles enjoy some time with kittens and puppies

Hospitality House is truly a "home away from home" for people in trying times. You can help provide comfort to our guests through your gifts such as volunteering your time or donating items.  We are in need of the following:

Non-perishable items such as, canned soups, canned tuna, canned chicken, canned fruit, canned vegetables, ramen noodles, peanut butter, jelly, rice, pasta and pasta sauce, pancake mix and syrup, popcorn, mac-n-cheese, trail mix, Jell-O and pudding, coffee, coffee filters, coffee creamer packets and sugar packets, small bags of chips, cookies or crackers, soda and bottled water. Gift cards to local grocery stores Volunteers to help prepare meals, participate in house activities, decorate for the holidays and develop a Serenity Garden on our property. Toiletries for female and male guests - shampoo, conditioner, shaving cream and razors, deodorant, lotion, combs, brushes, toothbrushes, toothpaste, and feminine products. Magazine subscriptions
