Volunteer: Volunteers to lead nature hikesThe Ivy Creek Foundation, which is tasked with caring for and conserving Ivy Creek Natural Area and River View Farm, is looking for volunteers who have an interest in the outdoors and would want to lead hikes that focus on various kinds of flora and fauna. You get to choose the type of hike that you want to lead based on your interest and background. These hikes can focus on mostly children, families, or adults. These hikes take place year-round depending on the weather and will typically be scheduled either on a weekday afternoon or early evening or on the weekend. Volunteer: DocentsThe Ivy Creek Foundation is currently looking for volunteers who are interested in history, with a focus on local, African American, agricultural, and women's history. We are seeking individuals who would be interested in giving tours of historic River View Farm, which includes the Carr/Greer family cemetery, the home that was built in the 1880s, and the historic barn built in the 1930s. These tours primarily take place on the weekends from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm and last about 45 minutes. These tours typically run from April to November and the commitment required is once a month.
