Volunteer: Advocate for children in foster care
GIVE CHILDREN A VOICE IN THE SYSTEM When you advocate for children who are in the foster care system due to allegations of abuse and neglect, you help ensure that they get the medical, emotional, and educational support they need. You give them a voice in the system -- a voice in their recovery and in their future. And you give them hope.
WHO ARE CASA ADVOCATES? CASA Advocates come from all walks of life, but they share a compassion and a commitment to improving young lives. If you are interested in one of the most challenging and rewarding of volunteer opportunities, we will train you to become a Court Appointed Special Advocate, also known as a CASA Advocate.
HOW MUCH TIME DOES IT TAKE TO BE A CASA ADVOCATE? On average, CASAs invest about 15 hours each month in their advocacy.
WHAT IS THE FIRST STEP? The first step is to register for an Information Session. To see the current schedule, click here. You can also go pcasa.org and click on the red Advocate button. Scroll down to the blue bar that reads: How do I become a CASA?
