Description

The Thomas Jefferson Foundation's Center for Historic Plants (CHP) is located just down the road at Tufton Farm.  The Center collects, preserves, and distributes historic plant varieties and strives to promote greater appreciation for the origins and evolution of garden plants.  They host educational events and also act as a nursery, producing the plants and seeds we sell at the Monticello Museum Shop and in our catalog.

CHP is seeking volunteers to help maintain their wildflower meadow my weeding out invasive growth.  This is an outdoor project and we advise wearing long pants and closed toe shoes.  Bending and walking are required.  Please help us keep this beautiful environment looking its best!
