Description

Jackson-Via has a wonderful outdoor space for students to learn about nature and the environment. The trail is used primarily in the fall and spring for nature walks, classroom discussions and exploration. The nature trail benefits 380 students from preschool to fourth grade, next year fifth grade. The nature trail gets overgrown and needs a little maintenance each year. We are looking for volunteers to trim back bushes, tree limbs that have fallen on the trail, and make the space a usable outdoor classroom. We will provide gloves, trash cans and trash bags but ask that the volunteers bring shovels, trimmers, mattock, chainsaws, etc. We appreciate the community assistance that makes our school a more nurturing and enriching environment.
