Habitat for Humanity of Greater Charlottesville is looking for a group of hands-on volunteers to help out at one of our new home builds!
Purchased in 2007 to prevent a mass displacement from happening, our local Habitat for Humanity affiliate has been working closely with the Southwood Mobile Home Park, a community that has housed people in Charlottesville for over half a century. While we continue to maintain the Southwood property and engage with the community, we are building new affordable homes for the Southwood residents to purchase and rent. The redevelopment project aims to permanently eradicate the risk of displacement and transfer ownership back to the individual residents, and we would love for you to be a part of it!
By selecting this opportunity, you can help build during many different stages of construction, such as framing, painting, landscaping, interior finishes and much more. More precise project information will become clear closer to the date. No skills or experience are required to volunteer, just a willingness to learn!
Thank you for considering this project and helping out as part of the Southwood Redevelopment, we're sure you'll have a great and meaningful time!
