Help Gallastar create a safe and engaging obstacle course that will benefit both rescued horses and the children, veterans, and adults who participate in our therapeutic programs.
Volunteers will work together to build avariety of training obstacles, including:
- Wooden bridge
- Teeter-totter (horse-safe design)
- Water crossing
- Ground poles and raised cavaletti
- Weaving poles
- Mailbox obstacle
- Gate obstacle
- Backing chute
- Small platforms and step-over obstacles
Gallastar will provide the materials and project plans. Volunteers will assist with measuring, cutting, assembling, painting, and installing the obstacles.
Why This Matters
Obstacle courses help rescued horses develop confidence, trust, balance, and problem-solving skills as they learn to navigate new experiences in a calm and positive way.
For our therapy participants, the obstacle course creates meaningful opportunities to build confidence, practice communication, develop leadership skills, improve focus, and experience the joy of overcoming challenges alongside their equine partners.
Each completed obstacle becomes another tool for healing—helping both horses and people discover that challenges can be faced one step at a time.
