Through its P.U.S.H. Initiative, Mahogany & Friends Foundation places books and financial education into the hands of children. For this holiday project, volunteers will create fun “Money Messages for Tiny Investors” packets that will be paired with donated holiday storybooks and distributed to local children during the Christmas season.
Volunteers will write short, encouraging “Dear Tiny Investor” letters using prompts and examples provided by Mahogany & Friends Foundation. Each letter will be assembled with a financial affirmation card, sticker, bookmark, and holiday-themed financial-literacy activity sheet that includes a New Year money goal. All materials will be placed inside a colorful branded envelope or folder.
The completed packets will help make each holiday book gift more personal while introducing children to positive money habits in an engaging and age-appropriate way. Our goal is to prepare 100 packets. No financial-services, teaching, or writing experience is required. All instructions and materials will be provided.
In addition to creating the packets, volunteers and participating organizations will have the option to support the holiday distribution by donating a new, unwrapped toy or contributing toward the project’s $1,000 savings goal. The funds will allow each of the 100 children to receive a $10 savings starter incentive along with their holiday book and Money Messages for Tiny Investors packet. Donations are encouraged but are not required to participate.
