Help City of Promise with minor exterior repairs at their property. Volunteers will assess and repair sections of the backyard fence, including replacing a small number of fence pickets as needed, and/or rebuilding the lattice underneath the deck.
The fence is generally in good condition, so this project is best suited for volunteers who are comfortable with basic carpentry and hands-on repair work. The project may involve measuring, cutting, securing wood, and making minor repairs.
Materials & Tools
Volunteers/team should plan to provide all necessary materials and tools, including lumber or lattice material, replacement fence pickets, nails/screws, and basic carpentry tools.
City of Promise has indicated that they do not currently have materials available for the project.
Skills/Physical Requirements
- Basic carpentry or construction experience is helpful.
- Volunteers should be comfortable using basic hand and power tools.
- May involve standing, bending, lifting, measuring, cutting, and working outdoors.
- Volunteers should be prepared to determine which repairs can reasonably be completed during the project timeframe.
