Who We Are

The EFN's mission is to reduce food insecurity in the city of Charlottesville and Albemarle County by providing nutritionally balanced multi-day supplies of food, upon request, to individuals and families. We ask no financial questions, which enables us to serve those who are experiencing a sudden emergency or whose income just isn’t quite enough to cover all their expenses. We distribute food directly, as well as through partnerships with other local nonprofit organizations.

What We Do

Our clients call our office in the morning between 9:00am and noon to order a multi-day supply of healthy groceries that they will pick up later on that same day, between 1:30 and 3:30pm. We provide meat, milk, bread, eggs, cheese, margarine and fresh produce in every food order, along with non-perishable staples. There are no financial requirements to qualify for this free service. We are open on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.
