Albemarle County Schools Families In Crisis and Regional Migrant Education Programs promote student success and support families. We address the unique needs of children of agricultural farm workers and students experiencing homelessness to support their access to education and opportunities.
Albemarle Migrant Education sponsors a variety of programs for our students, young adults, and parents. These programs provide tutoring, youth mentoring, and English classes. Volunteers and staff go to homes, schools, community locations, and migrant work camps to work with individuals and families.
Albemarle Regional Migrant Education and Families In Crisis (Homeless) Programs provide quality academic support services and advocacy to students in order to help them reach state academic goals, receive a high school diploma or GED, continue post secondary education, and access opportunities. Programs are funded by federal funds and competitive grants, as well as by private donations. Our staff work in schools, homes, and migrant camps to aid students and young adults in achieving their educational goals.
