How to Enroll:
Before we make a
match, we do our homework. After someone expresses an interest in becoming a
Big, they go through an extensive background check and careful interview
process. Then we match Bigs and Littles based on location, personalities and
preferences. And we provide full support from the start, so matches can grow
into lasting, fruitful friendships. It’s also important to note that the entire
matching process is made possible through donations — we can’t do what we do
best without them!
Community-
Based Mentoring: Our Bigs
and Littles get together for one-to-one outings that take place in the
community. Each match meets, on average, 2- 4 times per month for at least 1
year. As an agency we encourage free or low cost outings, and will
provide you with plenty of ideas and agency-hosted events. You can spend time
doing things you enjoy together, such as:
- Going for a hike
- Playing your favorite board game
- Doing arts and crafts
- Making ice cream sundaes
- Watching a UVA sporting event
- Cooking dinner together

Sisters holds itself accountable to demonstrating outcomes in three critical
areas for our Littles:
