Who We Are

Meals on Wheels connects those unable to cook for themselves with those who are willing and able to help. Our volunteers deliver freshly prepared meals Monday through Friday, including holidays, to homebound clients in Charlottesville, Scottsville, Crozet and the the surrounding areas of Albemarle county. Most of our volunteers drive a regular route one day per week. But we also have opportunities for substitute drivers, shuttle drivers and food packers.

What We Do

We are neighbors helping neighbors - one meal at a time.  Our dedicated volunteers deliver both food and daily social contact to people who live alone, helping them feel safe and secure.  We are a local nonprofit organization founded in 1977 by Church Women United. We deliver hot meals to our neighbors who cannot provide for themselves.

Your donations keep our doors open, paying either fully or partially for the majority of our clients' meals.  As an independent, local non-profit organization, Meals on Wheels relies on contributions from the Charlottesville/Albemarle community to support its home-delivered meals program.  While some clients are able to pay the full cost of their meals, donations from caring individuals, local businesses and community organizations are how Meals on Wheels continues to feed our clients each weekday.
