United Way of Greater Charlottesville

Who We Are

Our United Way seeks innovative approaches to address critical local issues and brings funding, advocacy and volunteerism to create better outcomes. Our priorities guide both our grants to community agencies and our own direct services, and will move the needle in areas of financial stability, school readiness, and connected communities.

By partnering and encouraging collaboration, our approach enables us to address significant challenges and create lasting, life changing differences for our citizens. It is our hope you will join us with your financial support and volunteer efforts.

Together, we can have a tremendous impact.

What We Do

At United Way of Greater Charlottesville, we bring people, organizations, and other partners together to create a stronger, more vibrant community where everyone can reach their full potential. We work in 3 areas: Financial Supports & Services to increase opportunities for local families, individuals, and small businesses to become economically stable and independent; Childcare & Early Education Supports & Services that make high-quality early care and education accessible so all children reach their potential at school and beyond; and Community Involvement, which empowers people, organizations, and businesses to come together as volunteers and partners to make our community stronger.
