Who We Are
Excellence in reading, math, and physical fitness!
Objectives
The primary objectives of Club Yancey are to: 1) Improve academic achievement in language arts and math; 2) Improve physical fitness and wellness; and 3) Increase parental/family involvement. Programming is designed purposefully to integrate one or more of these objectives into all aspects of Club Yancey.
What We Do
Club Yancey is an afterschool and summer program that benefits at-risk youth in our local community attending Benjamin F. Yancey Elementary School. We are an independent organization associated with Albemarle County Public Schools that is funded by grants, donations, and tuition. Club Yancey was designed to help underprivileged children in the Esmont area and surrounding community to further develop academic abilities and physical fitness skills, and to experience diverse cultural and enrichment opportunities. These tools will help guide area youth to become productive, responsible, well-educated, and healthy adults that can one day give back to our community.
