Who We Are

The Habitat Store supports Habitat for Humanity of Greater Charlottesville by selling new and salvaged building materials and home furnishings to the public at affordable prices. All proceeds from the Habitat Store contribute to our mission of creating pathways to affordable housing in our local communities.

The Habitat Store also benefits the environment by promoting the reuse and refurbishing of furniture and building materials that otherwise might end up wasted, and provide our community members with affordable furniture to make a house their home.

What We Do

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Charlottesville was founded in 1991 as an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International. Over the past two decades, we have built homes in partnership with more than 100 local low-income families. We also currently manage two trailer parks and the local Habitat Store, which raises money for Habitat homes by selling building products and other donated materials.

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Charlottesville works to create simple, decent, affordable housing in partnership with low-income families, volunteers and the communities of greater Charlottesville.
