Albemarle Foundation for Education

At the heart of a strong community is a thriving public school system. At the Albemarle Foundation for Education, our mission is to generate community commitment to helping each student in Albemarle County Public Schools thrive. This has been our work since 2022.

We work in three priority areas to support the Albemarle County Public Schools. Eliminating Opportunity Gaps: Helping ensure that every student—regardless of background or circumstance—has access to the resources, enrichment, and support needed to thrive academically and socially. Enhancing Student Well-Being: By addressing basic and essential needs, we help create the conditions for students to feel supported, engaged, and ready to learn. Supporting Teacher Development and Retention: Strengthening educators and aspiring educators through recognition and by removing barriers that can stand in the way of professional growth and lifelong learning. We also acknowledge the contributions of graduating seniors by awarding the Albemarle Foundation for Education Community Impact Award.
