Cville Litter Pickers

We're a community volunteer group of Charlottesville-area residents who want to see our neighborhoods and natural spaces kept clean. Cleanups are welcoming and low-pressure — no experience needed, and most events are suitable for volunteers of all ages. We coordinate with local partners like the Rivanna Conservation Alliance and work with property owners and the community to target the spots that need attention most. Cville Litter Pickers organizes regular community cleanups across Charlottesville and Albemarle County. We meet most Saturdays from 2:00–4:00 PM at a different site each week — neighborhood streets, parks, trails, and the creek corridors that feed the Rivanna. Volunteers pick up litter and illegal dumping that would otherwise pile up in public spaces and wash downstream into local waterways. All equipment is provided, and we handle disposal, so volunteers just need to show up ready to help. We're focused on the litter, not the litterer — the goal is cleaner, healthier neighborhoods for the people who live in them.
