Who We Are

MISSION

Our mission is to advocate on behalf of Black women and girls to promote leadership development and gender equity in the areas of:

HEALTH

EDUCATION

ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT

Ultimately building pathways to sustainable self-sufficiency, for women and girls of African descent.

The Black Women of Charlottesville Virginia was formed by women who shared the common goal of providing mentorship, education, and more support for Black women and girls within the local community. The women who comprise this organization are mothers, daughters, sisters, and aunts who have a sense of social responsibility and a strong desire to ensure that our young women solidify their rightful place in society.
