Compassionate and enthusiastic volunteers are needed to tutor adults in English speaking, reading, and writing. Many also need support in preparing for the U.S. Citizenship interview. You don't need any teaching experience. Volunteers meet approximately eight hours each month with their students.
We'll train you to provide one-to-one instruction to adults in our community. Register for our next one hour Information Session here which is on Wednesday, October 21 at 2:30 pm or signup for one of our next New Tutor Trainings here on Saturdays, November 10 from 6 to 8:30 pm or Tuesdays, November 10 & 17 from 6 to 8:30 pm. Lunch is provided on 9/12 and a meal is optional on 11/17 at 5:30 pm.
Note: Only one 5-hour training session is needed to start as a tutor with LVCA.
