Woodbrook Elementary School is a small school in Charlottesville. Like many other schools, statewide budget cuts have decreased funding for educational services and supplies. Fifty-four percent of our students at Woodbrook Elementary qualify for free- or reduced-cost lunch and our classroom sizes are on the rise. Funding that the Parent Teacher Organization raises provide opportunities to students who might not otherwise have access to museums, performances and extracurricular activities but we are struggling to find parents who can help. Most families consist of two working parents, some only one working parent and many just do not have time in this day and age to help after hours. We are looking for volunteers to assist with our biggest fundraiser of the year, the Annual Fun Fair and Silent Auction. The event is from 4-6:30 on Saturday, April 23rd but we need volunteers to come in from around3:30-6:00, to help running fun and easy carnival style games, sell concessions, and assist in general aspects of the fair. It is a great event, very well organized and fun for everyone. We are even giving out vouchers for food, for your service.
