LilyPads Housing is looking for volunteers to visit UVA Children's hospital with our Care Cart. Our Care Cart is stocked full of hospital survival essentials and comfort items (such as toiletries, snacks, eye masks, etc.) that are to be distributed to families with hospitalized children. Volunteers visit the hospital every other Monday, from 10:45AM-2PM and may attend as few or as many shifts as they would like.
During the shift, volunteers check-in with parents/caregivers and then pull the requested items for the families. Volunteers also mark down what items are being given out for us to record in our inventory.
Because this is a volunteer position within the hospital, Care Cart volunteers are required to undergo UVA's volunteer training and medical screening first. We've gone through the steps ourselves and can assure you that they're easy. We are exceptionally grateful to those who choose to volunteer at the hospital with us and are willing to jump through a few extra hoops to do so!
