At the Quarry Gardens, Family Day volunteers will work with Rachel Floyd of the Center for Urban Habitats and our regular Friday volunteers on tasks to maintain and protect the galleries of locally native plant communities. At the same time they will have the opportunity to learn about such plant communities. Interest in and some experience of gardening are needed; volunteers should bring gloves, hand pruners, trowels, and any favorite weeding tools. The work is all outdoors so mask-wearing is optional. We will not work if there is heavy rain. Volunteers should sign up via email: bernice.thieblot@gmail.com.
Please note: restrooms are available in the Visitor Center and a picnic pavilion is available for brought lunches.
