Join the Rivanna Conservation Alliance and The Nature Conservancy for an MLK Day of Service at Rivanna River Company to cut invasive vines that are threatening our beautiful native plant species. We will be focusing on removing porcelain berry, English ivy, Oriental bittersweet and much more! We will begin the day with a brief session teaching volunteers how to ID the invasive plants we are after followed by a removal effort.
RCA will provide loppers and smaller hand tools, but if you have any preferred invasive cutting tools, please bring them! Volunteers should also plan to bring water and wear long pants and closed-toe shoes.
