Communities In Schools of Northern Virginia (CIS NOVA) is seeking volunteers to support our upcoming Spring Community Food Distribution in Albemarle County on April 2nd.
This event helps provide essential groceries and resources to local students and families. At our last distribution, we served hundreds of individuals, and with your help, we can continue making a meaningful impact in our community.
- Volunteer Roles & Shifts:
10:30 AM – 12:00 PM | Food Delivery & Set-Up
Assist with unloading food deliveries and organizing items for distribution.
(Please note: food boxes should not be placed directly on the ground.)
3:00 PM – 5:00 PM | Case-Managed Distribution
Support CIS staff in distributing food to case-managed students and families.
5:00 PM – 7:00 PM | Community Distribution
Help serve families, restock items, and ensure a smooth flow of traffic.
7:00 PM – 7:30 PM | Clean-Up
Assist with breaking down tables, organizing leftover items, and restoring the space.

Lambs Lane Campus - Parking lot between Boys & Girls Clubs and Journey Middle School
Volunteer Requirements:
Able to lift light to moderate boxes (for set-up roles)
