Communities In Schools of Northern Virginia (CIS NOVA) is seeking enthusiastic and dependable volunteers to support a potential Let Me Run boys’ running club this fall at Red Hill Elementary School.
Let Me Run is a wellness program that uses running, teamwork, and engaging lessons to help boys build confidence, develop healthy habits, strengthen connections with peers, and grow socially and emotionally.
Volunteer coaches will help lead and encourage students during practices as they work toward completing an end-of-season 5K. You do not need to be an experienced runner or coach to volunteer! Let Me Run provides training, curriculum, and resources to help coaches successfully lead the program.
Volunteer Requirements
Volunteers should be dependable, encouraging, and interested in mentoring and supporting students. Volunteers will be required to:
- Complete the Albemarle County Public Schools (ACPS) volunteer screening/background check before volunteering with students. Complete the ACPS Volunteer Screening Form Here then email Site Supervisor savannah@cisofnova.org for next steps.
- Commit to supporting the program consistently throughout the season.
